BLACK FRIDAY SALE 70% OFF QuickBooks for 3 months* Ends 11/30
Buy nowThank you to NoForced Acct for recommending using Windows Defender Firewall to prevent QB from accessing Intuit. Nothing else I tried worked. Never having used the Windows Defender Firewall interface, I followed instructions on "How to Block a Program with Windows Firewall" on WikiHow. After creating 4 separate blocking rules: inbound and outbound each (as you said) for QBW32.EXE and QBW32PremierProfessional (my version).EXE, I've tried opening 3 of my 10 QB companies, and now the Intuit demand for a second ID and password does not appear. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. The update still cleared various reports and settings that have to be redone on 10 companies, but now that (I hope) it can't access Intuit, there should be no more updates while I figure out which accounting software to switch to.
