You are explaining exactly what I've been dealing with for quite some time now.  When moving the DB manager to another server are you simply just installing it on another local server and pointing it to the same folder and that's it?  Problem solved?

EDIT:  Trying to do this now and can't point the DB Manager to a Network Share or Mapped drive... So that seems to go out the window
