Allow me to share additional details about correcting the 1099 in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
There's no need for you to go to the Payroll tab to prepare for 1099. Since all corrected 1099 must be filed manually and send it by mail to the IRS. For more guidance, you can use these IRS instructions and see correct or change 1099s in QuickBooks
If you're not sure, I'd also suggest consulting your accountant. They will give you advice on how to properly map your account.
