To begin, please download QuickBooks Tool Hub and utilize the Add Defender Exclusion tool. This application is specifically designed to fix common issues encountered with QuickBooks Desktop. Make sure to install the latest version of the Tool Hub.

 

Next, create and add your QuickBooks files to the Microsoft Defender exclusion list. By doing this, Microsoft Defender won't scan these files during installation, enabling a seamless process. Also, please remember to sign in as an admin user; otherwise, the Add Defender Exclusion option will be disabled.

 

Afterward, you can follow the steps I'll share below to use this feature.

 

  1. Click Cancel to stop the update.
  2. Close your QuickBooks company file.
  3. Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  4. Select Installation issues, then Add Defender Exclusion.
  5. Restart your computer.
  6. Reopen QuickBooks and start the update.
