Quickbooks does NOT have any option for Employee Banked Overtime. And I have to record project hours each week for project invoicing and employee wages. Therefore we do not technically bank the hours: we max the employee's weekly hours to 44, then I put any excess hours into the next week's employee timesheet on the project(s). We have been lucky in that carry forward/bank hours have not been much, and normally catch up in a few weeks for the employee(s). Quickbooks Advice to track banked hours manually does NOT work--payroll system pays employees for all project hours recorded on weekly timesheet--no feature to enter negative/banked hours.
NOTE: If Quickbooks allowed "negative hours" to be entered in weekly timesheets, then I could setup a Banked Hours project for each employee to track the time in excess of 44 hrs per week. This would be a proper Banked Hours setup for the employee, allowing the recording, tracking and release (when the employee wants--not the week following) of the banked hours properly. This was suggested verbally and in writing to Quickbooks Technicians, along with the Alberta Government Employment Standards Regulations on Banked Overtime a year ago. Nothing has been done by Quickbooks.
