Now that I've done this, How do I only SEE the subtotal number on the line items? I do not want to see every individual line price. Just the subtotals

I would like to do something similar. I would like to add a parts subtotal of the taxable items. This would separate the labor from the taxable parts.
is there a way to do this

It works with the second subtotal, UNLESS you try to apply a discount, then it gets wierd.
Subtotal 1 2243.75
Subtotal 2 575.00
Subtotal 3 1313.75
Subtotal 4 - Invoice 4 4132.5
Discount/Credit -1035.0
Subtotal 5 278.75 *WTH did this come from* (All non-taxable items)
Subtotal 6 3097.50
Total is correct but it is confusing with the hanging chad 278.75
