How can I run one off bonus payroll for employee.. I do not get an option to run payroll for bonus. It goes to normal payrun only

Hi there, Skhera. To run payroll for bonuses only, you can create an empty payroll and add a line item specifically for the Bonus category.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account and go to Payroll.
  2. Click New Pay Run and select the applicable Pay Schedule.
  3. Choose the Pay Period Start and End Dates, then select the Pay Date.
  4. Check the two boxes below the Pay Date field.
  5. Click Create.

After creating an empty pay run, you can add the payee and enter the bonus amount.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the dropdown arrow beside the name of the employee.
  2. Select Actions, then click Add Earnings.
  3. In the Hourly Earnings field, open the dropdown menu and select Bonus.
  4. Enter the bonus details, then click Save.

Once done, review and finalize the pay run. You can send the bonus to your employee as needed.
