Why can't I edit a Sales Order from the Sales Order report?
I can pull up a list of Sales Orders using the "Open Sales Order by Customer" or "Open Sales Order by Item", but when I click on any of the Sales Orders listed, nothing happens.

The Sales Order Reports is currently in beta and I agree that it won't route you to the sales order page, Big. To do the edits, please go to the Sales tab and here's how:
- Go to the Sales section on the left sidebar.
- Select All Sales or navigate to the Sales Orders tab.
- Find and click on the order you’d like to edit.
Once done with the changes, click the Edit dropdown to Convert to Invoice, then refer to this article for the next steps: Create invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Other questions
I understand that it is not available; what I don't understand is WHY it is not available. It is useless to have the report without the ability to open and edit the transactions listed in the report. Every other report in QuickBooks allows you to do this. The Sales Orders tab is useless in this regard because it does not show the customer names for the Sales Orders.

Other questions
I know how it feels not being able to fully utilize a report's functions just like the others, Big. I agree that fully operational reports are crucial for efficient business management. I'll provide more insights on this below.
Currently, the Open Sales Order by Customer and Open Sales Order by Item reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO) are in their Beta phase, which is why you cannot open transactions directly from the report.
This stage involves a select group of users and allows us to test features, gather feedback, and solve any problems. This way, we can ensure the functionality meets user needs before a full release.
In the meantime, please refer to the instructions previously given by my colleague to make temporary edits to your sales order. You can refer to this article for a detailed guide: Create and manage sales orders in QuickBooks Online.
Additionally, I'll also include these guidelines to assist you with future tasks:
- Set report preferences
- Save a customized report in QuickBooks Online
- Create, access, and modify memorized reports
