I'm shocked there is not an easier solution!  Everyone wants to be paperless, however, 5 years of attachments can not be transferred, how antiquated.

If you are using QB Desktop 2022-2024, you can convert the data as-is to QB Online and use the trial version to access historical data with attachments for good. There is no way to convert data with attachments unless purchasing a third-party conversion service.
