Ridiculous my small not for profit company can not afford to pay that kind of price. I have been a Qbks person since 1999. I have paid for a lot of upgrades. But the new company is too small to eat that cost. They are cruel.

As I know there is no ongoing issue running QBD 2024 on Sonoma.

Did you find a good alternative? I have two companies and QB online is not only awful, but you have to pay for two subscriptions. The desktop let me have two companies files without extra cost.

my friend is starting a business. I told her I would help set it up. I have called sales and they only want  subscriptions.  I bought and own my own license.  That is what would work for her.

It is very shady on how to get a onetime license for Mac- Desktop. 

Doesn't Intuit care about small business? That is what it started out as, now they are just leaving us high and dry. 

There is Only 1 alternative. and it's for up to 40 users. $1,922. Annually. That is ludicrous .

Will QBD for Mac 2020 work on OS Sonoma? I know I cannot buy a newer version without a subscription, which really stinks as I own and operate a pet sitting business by myself! I've been using QB for Mac since 2010 so this change really sucks. I'm currently running Monterey but would like to upgrade my OS. I appreciate all the information I've read in this thread.

However, installing the latest QuickBooks Desktop for MAC 2024 would be best to ensure you have the most recent operating system updates.

We highly recommend staying with the current macOS to ensure uninterrupted business operations. However, If you prefer macOS Sonoma, we suggest using the supported version of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2023 or 2024.

I have QB desktop for Mac 2021 (R14.2) running on Big Sur. I was thinking of upgrading my OS to at least Monterrey or Ventura, but don't want to go a bridge too far. Any issues with that?
