Shipgear End of Life
We recently received an email from Vtechnologies stating that Shipgear's end of life is 12-31-2023. Does anyone know of any alternative applications that will connect Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise to UPS Worldship?
Thanks

We're glad to see you here, DFMachine.
Intuit has partnered with several third-party apps that can bridge or sync QuickBooks with another application. You can visit the App Store to look for accredited and approved apps. Let me share these steps with you:
- Go to this link: https://desktop.apps.com/home.
- Type in a keyword in the Search bar such as connector or sync, then click Search.
- Review the search results and click on the app for more details.
Let me know if you're able to find an alternative app. I would also love to get back here if you need anything else.

You need a shipping management app and a connector to integrate with QB Desktop.

The only one I see when I type Worldship is Shipgear.

I know, we currently use Shipgear. It will no longer be supported after 12-31-23, I am looking for an alternative.

I appreciate you for getting back to us, DFMachine.
Aside from the QuickBooks Apps page, you can look for an alternative app online. Then, you can contact their phone support team if they integrate with QuickBooks Desktop.
You can always get back to this thread if you need help with managing your file.

We're in the same boat. What app did you end up going with? Did you try out their Starship cloud app?
If you did, how were the setup and integration? I will try their 30-day trial and go through their steps to get it rolling.

I haven't found a solution yet. I am searching again. I just had a call with VTechnologies regarding the StarShip, we have not pulled the trigger on anything. We do not have high shipping volume and only use UPS for shipping so we don't need all the extra stuff they offer and are only looking to link QuickBooks to UPS Worldship to pull customers information and write back to the invoice, nothing more, nothing less. Have you found an alternative yet?

Just seeing this...
We did go with StarShip and it does WAY more than we need. We did the on-boarding/setup ourselves and it has been working OK. A few wrinkles to sort out that just worked in ShipGear but had to be tweaked in StarShip.
If you haven't jumped on anything yet I would also look into: QzLink. Our UPS rep suggested them but after we already switched. We will be taking a demo run with them before our renewal comes up in StarShip. Way less expensive too...
