Does anyone know how to correct a 1099 NEC in Quickbooks that was already e-filed? The error to correct is due to Quickbooks duplicating the amount to a contractor.

I'll provide some information on how you can correct it, usercounseling_solut.
You can only file your 1099 form once through QuickBooks Online. Direct communication with the IRS is required to update and correct the 1099 forms.
Here's how:
- Order 1099-NEC IRS forms online at IRS Online Ordering for Information Returns and Employer Returns or over the phone at 800-829-3676.
- Fill out the 1099-NEC form either by handwriting or type it up and be sure to select the Corrected checkbox.
- Once done, mail the form to the IRS.
- Once done, you can provide the corrected return to the recipient or contractor yourself.
Please refer to the IRS Instructions for Certain Information Return for more insights. You also can read this article for more details about this process: Correct or change 1099s in QuickBooks.

Greetings, @1168yo.
Let me share some insights regarding the 1096 form and to guide you on how you can send a 1099 amendment.
QuickBooks Online allows you to file your 1099's electronically. However, amendments need to be done manually. You can print a copy and mail it to the IRS.
Here's how to file the amended form:
- Order 1099-NEC IRS forms online at IRS Online Ordering for Information Returns and Employer Returns or over the phone at 800-829-3676.
- Fill out the 1099-NEC form and be sure to select the Corrected checkbox.
- Once done, mail the form to the IRS.
- After that, mail the recipient copy to your contractor as soon as possible so that they can file their taxes.
Please refer to the IRS general Instructions for Certain Information Returns for the information that you'll need to prepare. Additionally, you can visit this link for more details about this process: How to correct or change 1099s in QuickBooks.
On the other hand, I'd like to let you know that based to the IRS's most recent publication on Form 1096, those that file their 1099-MISC forms electronically (such as with Intuit's E-file service) do not need to submit a 1096.
