Starting fresh without losing data
I would like to start fresh with QB online without losing the past data. I have closed a business and have yet to do my taxes this year but I would like to move forward with a clean slate. Can this be done?

Let me help sort this out and get you started, girlfridaytoday.
There are two ways for you to start fresh without losing data in QuickBooks Online. First, you can subscribe to a new QuickBooks Online account.
Here's how:
- Sign up for QuickBooks Online.
- Enter your user ID and password. You can use the same user ID and password you used before.
- Optional: If you use payroll, make sure to add Payroll in Step 2 of the sign-up process.
Second, you can close the books for the closed business and adjust all the account balances. If you need to record a journal entry, I'd suggest working with an accountant to help ensure your data is accurate.
For your reference, you can go through this article: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online. This will provide you with tips about what to do before starting over in QuickBooks.
Should you have any other concerns, please let me know. I'm here always here to keep helping and rooting for your success, girlfridaytoday. Have a good one!

For your old account, you may consider these options:
1. Convert your data to a QB Desktop file. You can utilize the trial version for QB Desktop to open it later
2. Cancel your account and you can still open it with 1 year in read-only mode. Subscribe again if needed.

In regards to your previous account, you can do one of the following:
First, you need to make a QB Desktop file from your data. You can access it in the future using the QB Desktop demo.
If you close your account, you will still have access to it for a full calendar year, but only in read-only mode. You are free to resubscribe at any time.
