The Design section should appear on the pop-up panel after clicking Manage at the top right corner of your new invoice interface, Warrah. Let's execute browser troubleshooting steps to rectify this missing option.
Start by logging out of your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in your regular browser, then sign into an incognito or private browser. You can use the following keyboard shortcuts below:
- Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
- Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
- Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
- Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
After, check if you have access to the Design option where you can choose your preset invoice templates. If you have, return to your regular browser and clear its cache to eliminate cookies that hinder web pages from functioning optimally. You can also use QBO's supported search engines.
While personalizing your invoices on the new layout, refer to this article for a comprehensive guideline: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks.
Once you send invoices to your customers, you can start getting their payments. This material provides detailed steps for precise tracking: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks.

Ah! The manage menu was nit mentioned in the earlier explanation, that’s the step we were missing. Thanks. Clunky, but works, older layout was more intuitive.

The new invoice layout / Quickbooks interface breaks custom templates in the IOS app.
Instead of using whichever custom templates (invoice or estimate) you have set as default, the IOS app uses the regular Quickbooks version.
The temporary fix is to use the web app, and change the Quickbooks back to the old style / platform. The IOS app then reverts to the old invoice version, which works fine.
But…I’ve realised this bug needs to be fixed before October, as the old style/platform will be discontinued.
