Hi there, @Bar2.
Thanks for reaching out to us. Let me share some info regarding the system requirement for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2017.
This version only supports the following operating systems (OS):
- Windows 10, all editions including 64-bit, natively installed
- Windows 8.1 (Update 1), all editions, including 64-bit, natively installed
- Windows 7 SP1, all editions including 64-bit, natively installed
- Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2
If you're using Windows 11, I'd suggest using the QuickBooks Desktop 2022 or a newer version for optimal compatibility.
To find out what your computer needs for the best experience in QuickBooks Desktop 2022, you can check out this article: System Requirements for QBDT 2022. Please take note that this resource is intended for US versions of the said product. Although, the same information can still be applied to the QBDT UK versions.
Remember, you're always welcome to return whenever you need assistance in keeping your QuickBooks up-to-date. It would be my pleasure to be of assistance. Have a great day!

Thanks for getting back on this thread, @Bar2. I'll clarify things so you'll get back to business flawlessly.
It still depends on whether you want to upgrade your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest 2022 version since it's supported with your Windows 11.
With this, you can also enjoy the different features offered. For more details, you can visit this link for the plans and pricing: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/desktop/
Otherwise, QBDT Premier 2017 only supports the following operating systems provided by my colleague above.
For more tips on managing your QBDT versions, you can open these articles:
- Upgrade to newer versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, or Enterprise
- Upgrade your company files after switching to a new version of QuickBooks Desktop

Thank you but what about the subscription on the new version of QB? Is it required and what is included in it?
Also, I am not currently using QB Premier 2017, but QB Pro 2017, which I believe is a different product.

QB Desktop UK version is discontinued. You can switch to QB Desktop US or CA version to run on Win 11. You can buy a new license through partners. If your company is located in UK, you may consider using a MTD bridging app if required.

Your post appears in UK community, not US community. You can install the trial version for QB Desktop 2020 US version. If it works on your new machine, you can buy a one time license or later. Contact me in private and we can share the trial code for it.
