I'm here to share some update. 

After May 31, 2023, access to add-on services will be discontinued for QuickBooks Desktop for Windows 2020. This includes all versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Enterprise Solutions v20. If you don't use any of the add-on services in QuickBooks Desktop 2020, your product will continue to work for you.

With the discontinuation in 2023, you can still use the app if you have purchased a not subscription-based.

However, there will be no more updates, and you will have to troubleshoot all the issues manually.

Quickbooks Pro Desktop US

Is there a recommendation as a replacement?  I need a double entry accounting program for home use.  Must be desktop not cloud based.

Does anyone out there have a suggestion?  It's for household management so I'm not willing to pay $1000/year.

They still support QB Desktop 2021-2023 US and CA version after May 2023.

Where is your company located? UK or another country?

Hello Kelly you will need to either use move my books and move from desktop before the end of may to our online product or to another software. that's is the only options there is.

Hi Mark, thanks for pointing this out - the discontinuation refers to UK desktop products only and is effective as of 30 June, 2023. US-based desktop products will remain unaffected by this change.
