Unable to update QB Premier (2014 Edition): Error 15227
Hi,
I'm facing issues with updating my QB Premier (2014 Desktop Edition, Canada). As a result, I am unable to move my files to QB Online; I get stuck on a page where QB prompts me to update my software before moving to QBO.
Some additional details below:
- On the "Update Now" tab, updates for "Premier" shows error 15227
- I've tried solutions that I found online, to no avail (E.g Using trial version, resetting updates, tried the online restoration tool:US version)
I'm not sure what else I can do, and the Canada site seems to have phased out updates for 2014 on their site so I can't download it manually..
If there are any other ways I can move my files to QBO, please enlighten me. Thank you!

I can help you with moving your files from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @Jack8989.
QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2014 is no longer supported. Also, the error just means that there is nothing new in those channels to download for QBDT 2014.
In the meantime, you may consider exporting your data from QBDT into an Excel file. For detailed guidance with exporting Customer, Supplier, Payroll lists, and transactions, as well as Items list into an Excel spreadsheet, check out this article: Import or export MS Excel files.
Once you're done, refer to this article on how to see how your Excel files should look and how to import them to the account: Move your lists to QuickBooks Online.

Other Questions
Hi @MJoy_D ,
Thank you very much for the prompt response. I need to confirm:
- I understand that QBDT 2014 is no longer supported, and there are no new updates to download. Does that mean I cannot use the "Export company files to QBO" function? That function is much easier as I just need to click and few buttons and let the upload begin..
Importing using Excel files is much more tedious, time consuming and more prone to error. Is this really the only way for my version of QBDT?
Appreciate your help on this, thanks!

Keep in mind, you can only able to convert data from QB Desktop CA version to QB Online CA version. You can utilize the trial version for any supported QB Desktop CA version to upgrade your company file (i.e 2020-2023) and convert it to QBO CA version.

But you will need a workaround to convert your company file to QB Online Singapore version.

You may have 2 ways:
1. Utilize a migration tool. i.e TPExporter for Desktop and TPImporter for Online

2. Purchase a 3rd party conversion service.
