Hi, does anyone have a client who arrived 2 days before year-end? Do they need to file taxes that year? Let's say a client arrived in Canada on Dec 28, 2022. Do they need to file 2022?
If they are now a resident of Canada for tax purposes, yet they file. They will report their foreign income for the bulk of the year, but it will get them into the system for tax credits, etc. You need to file the reporting rules for an immigrant.
