StatusCode 5528
Hi. Can someone please help me get my quickbooks up and running again. I was using Quickbooks Premier 2021 on Parallels running Windows 11 Pro. Everything was fine til one day when I opened it it gave me Statuscode 5528. I can cancel it but 15 seconds later it pops up in the middle of the screen and will not stay away. I have reinstalled Quickbooks and before I even before I open a company file its back again. Is there anyone with a solution?

Locate the QuickBooks Desktop icon and press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard.
While holding down the Ctrl key, double-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon.
Continue holding the Ctrl key until you see the "No Company Open" window appear.
Once the "No Company Open" window appears, you can select the desired company file and click "Open"
If the problem persists, restart the process and open the sample file. Did you still encounter the same issue?

Even if I hold the control button down the first thing that pops up (even before the Quickbooks indicates that its opening) is the status code 5528 message.

Other Questions
The problem is on your Parallels or Windows OS (i.e windows registry).
Do you have a *.pvm file which only contains your Windows OS with no programs? If you don't have one, you should create one, reinstall your QB Desktop 2021 and restore the backup file.

Yes. Another option, switch to QB Desktop 2021 for Mac. I don't see any reason to stick with Parallels with your case.

Other Questions
Yes I understand. Only reason being is that I run Canadian finances and Quickbooks for Mac doesn't support CAD$

I know some factors on why status code 5528 keeps showing even after reinstalling QuickBooks and how to get rid of it, AlyB. Let me share the details below.
Firstly, errors occur in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) when there's a mismatch between your software version and system requirements. I suggest updating QBDT to its latest release so you have the recent features and fixes and have QuickBooks running again.
Moreover, error notifications happen when the QuickBooks data is damaged or the company file can't be read correctly by QuickBooks. We recommend installing the QuickBooks Tool Hub and fixing the file from there, to resolve this error. For the best experience, please use the tool on Windows 10, 64-bit.
Let me show you how:
- Close QuickBooks.
- Download the most recent version (1.6.0.8) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub and save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). Note: If you've installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be on the bottom.
- Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
- Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
- When the installation is finished, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
Next, run the quick file fix. Here's how:
- From the tool hub, select Company File Issues.
- Hit the Quick Fix My File or the QuickBooks File Doctor option.
- Select OK when completed and launch your QuickBooks.
If you need more help, go to the File Dr Help button or navigate through this article to learn more about this process: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.
Additionally, please ensure both Parallels and your Windows 11 Pro installation are up to date. Outdated virtualization software can sometimes cause such errors when using QBDT.
Furthermore, we have a QuickBooks version that works with Canadian dollars. You can try it for free by visiting this site: QuickBooks Online accounting software.
You're always welcome to get back to me if you have any other follow-up questions about error codes in QBDT. Let us know in the comments, and we will be here to help you. We're always here to ensure your QuickBooks runs smoothly!
