Im banking with scotia, I can import my data into quickbooks, but it won't stay connected to auto update. When i click update, i have to re-login with my phone app... is there a work around for this?

Hi handymanharvey,
Thanks for reaching out here. It's important that you're able to update your transactions seamlessly to keep your books accurate and up to date. QuickBooks Online provides the compatibility you need to get connected with your financial institution and reconcile your account with confidence. I'll be happy to provide more insight here!
Based on the information you've provided, the QuickBooks app does have some product limitations. For uploading banking transactions it's recommended to login from a web browser to ensure a positive outcome. I'd also recommend clearing cache to improve the performance and loading time.
Please feel free to contact us if you continue to experience the unexpected behavior. This will allow us to work with you independently and look further into this from our end.
Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?) Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > enter "Contact support" > hit Contact Us > provide a brief summary of your situation > hit Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Support hours are from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
If you have any other questions, please reach back out. We'd be glad to help!

Have you found a fix for this? We are having the same problem and it's been going on for about 8 months now. I'd love to hear if you have found a solution.

Nope. Interestingly enough though; I have a second business with scotiabank as well, for some reason that's updating on it's own and never asks me for secondary security to pull the transactions... weird...

As another option, explore MT Online as a workaround. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed.

When a client comes onboard who uses Scotiabank, I cringe. I switched to CIBC and pay a "CIBC Integration Fee-Accting" that costs me $5.00 plus HST and it's fantastic. I no longer have to sign into my phone to update the bank feed in QB.... which happened every day. Not sure if Scotiabank has such an App.
