Duplicate journal entries in profit and loss for payroll
Hi All
Recently I realized that when pay runs are unlocked and re-finalized, it creates a duplicate journal entry.
Instead of updating the existing journal entry, it created additional journal entry.
Paryoll figures from profit and loss did not match with payroll report.
I had to manually remove the duplicate journal entry. I am in contact with support team to check this issue.
Please be careful on wages figure when reviewing profit and loss report.
thanks
Pasang

Hello pasang,
Thanks for posting in the Community!
In QuickBooks Online Payroll once you unlock and refinalise a pay run the payroll journal related to that pay run should also be reversed. One area to check that causes duplicate figures from your Profit and Loss is the downloaded payroll payments. Some customers allocate payroll payment to an expense account instead of the Payroll Clearing account.
If you've verified the account used to allocate the payroll payments is correct, it is best to contact our Customer Care Team to further check the payroll journal affected.

Hi Sheila
I have checked and confirmed that it is a journal entry that has been duplicated. it did not reverse the journal entry when payroll is re-finalized. I am in touch with support team and forwarded them the requested documents.
Just posted this to inform others regarding the issue if anyone relies on profit and loss report for management meeting.
