In QuickBooks Online, you can adjust the pricing of your products and services. When you need to change the rates of your items, start by adjusting the new amounts for these items. To edit your product items, follow these steps:
- Go to the Gear icon, then select Products and Services.
- Select the item you want to edit, then click Edit.
- Adjust the Sales price/rate. You can also adjust the Cost if the purchase price changes.
- Click Save and close.
When you adjust the sales price of your products or services in QuickBooks Online, it's important to note that these changes will only apply to future transactions and will not affect past transactions you've created. If you want past transactions, such as invoices, to reflect the new sales price amount, you can edit them manually. Here's how:
- Go to Sales, then select Invoices.
- Select the invoice you want to edit the amount, then click Edit.
- Adjust the amount in the Rate column to its new amount.
- Select Save and send or Save and close.
