can anyone help with how to change the names in the budget line items, eg Sales - retail would need to be changed, can anyone help with how to do this?

As we dont work in sales or wholesale, we would like to custome these to be industry specific

Manage Customers and Income

Let me assist you in renaming your budget line item by modifying it in the Chart of Accounts of your QuickBooks Online (QBO), Accounts619.

 

Know that budget information, such as accounts, categories, and other data, is based on your Chart of Accounts (CoA). To rename the Sales Retail account in your budget, make the changes directly in CoA.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. Hover over the Gear Icon, then choose Chart of Accounts.
  3. To quickly find the account, use the search bar and enter Sales Retail.
  4. Once found, click the dropdown icon and select Edit.
  5. A pop-up window will appear in the right corner, allowing you to customize the account to fit your business needs.
  6. Once done, click Save.

Also, kindly note that QuickBooks has default accounts that cannot be deleted or edited. You can check this article for more information: Manage default and special accounts in your QuickBooks Online chart of accounts.
