How do I change the default accounts receivable account so that it directs all sales to a number GL account in my own Chart of Accounts as opposed to the standard AR act?

Although you cannot modify the default account, there's no need to worry. You can always change the account in the sales items. Let me walk you through changing the account. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Settings and select Products and services.
  2. From the Action column of the appropriate item, select Edit.
  3. From the Income account dropdown, choose the account you want to use. Please note that if you can't see the account. Make sure the account's detail type is Sales of Product Income.
  4. Select Save and close.
