The projects feature that helps us track the income, expenses, and profitability is only available in the Plus version of QuickBooks Online. If you're currently using QBO plus version, we should be able to see it by following the steps below:
First, we'll need to turn on this feature in the settings. Here's how to do it:
- Go to the Gear icon.
- Select Account and Settings under Your Company.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- In the Project section, hit the Edit icon.
- Tick the Organise all job-related activity in one place box.
- Click Save. Then, Done.

On the other hand, if you're not currently using the QuickBooks Online Plus version, that would be the reason why we're unable to find the project option in QBO. If that's the case, you may want to upgrade to get this feature. To guide you further, you can follow the steps below:
- Still, within the Account and Settings, select the Billing & Subscription menu.
- In the QuickBooks section, select Upgrade your plan. On this page, you'll also know what plan you're using.
- Choose Plus. Then, click the Upgrade button.
- Follow the on-screen instruction to complete the process.
