My quickbook online file was set up by my ex accountant and he is not working with us anymore. How can I take over the admin role?

The ex-accountant can transfer the primary access back to you, or you can submit a transfer request to our designated team to take over the admin role, Tuyet.
If you can still contact your previous accountant, you can let them follow the steps below so they can transfer the role back to you:
- Log in to your QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) account.
- Click the Go To QuickBooks dropdown.

- Locate and select the client's QBO company from the list.
- Once you're on the client's QBO account, navigate to the Gear icon. Then, Manage users.
- Find the client's name on the list.
- Choose the Make primary admin option from the dropdown arrow under the Action column.
- Follow the on-screen procedures to approve the transfer.
However, if you can no longer reach out to the ex-accountant, you'll need to gather documentation to prove that you're the rightful owner of the company. Then, access the Request Primary Administrator Update link to complete the form and submit everything to our designated team.
