Can not connect to BofA
I keep getting the error in my QuickBooks Desktop (NOT QB ONLINE) bank feed "You are no longer connected to Bank of America web connect, Set up a new connection with Bank of America - New again to start using the new and improved bank feeds."
When I attempt this, it goes all the way through the process then at the very end when is says connected I get another air message, "Sorry, we've run into a problem. QuickBooks is having trouble connecting to Bank of America - New. Options; Try again later, this is a temporary issue and will be resolved in a day or two.Try to set up your Bank of America - new again then. Below this message it says; 88888 All accounts associated with this customer ID have been synced with QuickBooks bank feeds. If other wise contact your financial institution. No connection has been made and nothing has Syced. This has been going on for over a week now. I have contacted BoA and they state that QB has ended their relationship with them and I have contacted QB multiple times and they have been no help and say they did not end the relationship with BofA. So both sides are pointing their fingers at each other and saying it is the others problem. So frustrating.
Is anyone else dealing with this?

I am curious if you had any answers to this question? I use BoA also and typically download and import manually, but it is not working. Curious and assuming it may be a related and similiar issue.

I am having exactly the same issue. Quickbooks Pro Desktop.
Bank of America no longer allows you to download QBO files.
When I attempt to set up syncing with Quickbooks Pro Desktop, I get the "Sorry, we've run into a problem. QuickBooks is having trouble connecting to Bank of America - New. Options; Try again later, this is a temporary issue and will be resolved in a day or two." But I have tried this numerous times over the past several weeks with exactly the same results.
This is NOT a temporary issue. This appears to be a permanent failure and I suspect the failure originates in Quickbooks.

Good afternoon, @hughcan.
Thanks for chiming in on this thread. We hate to hear that you've been having this experience with Bank of America in QuickBooks Desktop.
To escalate the issue, I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team. They'll be able to review your account and see why this is occurring. Here's how:
- Go to the Help menu.
- Press the QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact us option.
- Enter your question.
- Tap Get a callback.
Please reach back out and let us know how the call goes. We want to ensure that you get this taken care of as soon as possible. Take care!

Your instructions were completely incorrect. When you request a callback from support - using the functions of Quickbooks Desktop Pro - you get connected to a QB Online tech who knows nothing at all about Desktop Pro.
That person gave me a phone number to call. I called and that connected me to a worthless AI agent that could not understand the simplest requests or responses. By repeating the words "agent technical support representative" about ten times, I got the AI bot transfer me to a person.
The person was competent but could not resolve the issue. We did a screensharing session and I demonstrated that an attempt to make a direct connection to Bank of America. The error that appears is the same one I have always seen (going back months now). See screenshot.
In the screensharing session, we also looked at the "Participating Financial Institutions" list - accessed from the Banking menu in Desktop Pro. Both the "Bank of America - New" and "Bank of America - QB Webconnect" listings within the Quickbooks Desktop product report that the supported download method is "Web Connect". However, Bank of America does NOT repeat NOT provide QBO files. It only provides the following file types:
Web connect for Quicken 2018 and above
Quicken and Managing Your Money - QIF file (2 digit)
Quicken - QIF file (4 digit)
Microsoft Excel format
Printable text format
These are the only options from Bank of America.
So, the Quickbooks Desktop product SAYS it can connect to Bank of America using QB Webconnect, but it CANNOT because BofA does NOT provide QB Webconnect files (QBO files). The bank used to provide QBO files but that stopped about two months ago.
At the very least, Intuit should update the information within the product itself show correct information about Bank of America connections. Ideally, Intuit will work with BofA to get the connection going again. BofA is only one of the five largest banks in the world. This should work.

Found this on Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BankOfAmerica/comments/1oddyea/quickbooks_desktop_not_supported_any_longer/
Apparently BofA and Intuit don't communicate effectively at all, which is ridiculous since they must have millions of customers in common. Makes me want to stop using Intuit products completely.

Is there anyone with an update. I am already spending over 40 minutes with QB support on the phone and it seems it is not fixed. Interesting now the download options are longer for Quicken available and you can again download the QuickBooks Webconnect file for 2018 and higher. But I am still unable to import this into a 2023 or 2024 desktop version. Interestingly enough this is for a client that has a checking account and two credit cards with BOA and I am able to import everything from the credit cards. It is just the checking account that has the issues. In addition this is the only BOA client with the issues. All my other BOA clients I have no problems with. If anyone has an update.... greatly appreciated. I thought the update with the conversion from Quicken to QuickBooks would be great but since they now they dont even offer the Quickenfile anymore. Crazy!

Hello there, @bobdre1050.
Thank you for reaching out about the connectivity issue you're experiencing between QuickBooks Desktop and Bank of America. I understand this has been a frustrating experience. This can be quite troublesome, but I noticed a similar question regarding the Bank of America feeds. Fortunately, this issue has been raised by another member of the Community, and a fix has been shared.
I would like to share the link to their response so you can follow the recommended steps: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/banking/re-bank-of-america-bank-feeds-not-working/....
Additionally, I'll share this article in case you want to import your files through a CSV file in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT): Import/export CSV files.
Feel free to reply below if you need further assistance.

See my posts above. There is a workaround - we'll see how long it continues working - but essentially BofA no longer provides QBO files so the only option I am aware of is to use the workaround noted above in my post (or stop using Quickbooks Desktop and move to a different system.)

The workaround is that you convert from quicken file but the files I can generate now are quickbooks file. They are the exact files that you need to import but it’s not working. I have this issue only with one customer and one of her BOA checking accounts. It works with her other BoA credit cards just fine. The workaround on Reddit is creating a Quicken file. Which now longer is available to even download from BOA. In the meantime QB data services is workin on the file from BoA to see why it cannot be imported.

A few days ago, Bank of America resumed having .qbo files available for download but they are not importable into Quickbooks desktop (unidentified financial institution error). Spent the entire morning with QB support - no go... they sent me to Bank of America... haven't heard back yet. The quicken coversion fix worked for a few weeks, but now BoA doesn't support that download anymore. Hopefully they get it figured out.
