In QuickBooks Online (QBO), an unbalanced trial balance indicates incorrectly entered transactions. To fix this, let's run the Balance Sheet report on an Accrual basis.

Here's how:

1. Go to the Reports menu.
2. Enter Balance Sheet in the search bar.
3. Click the Report period drop-down arrow, then choose All Dates.
4. Check the date on the report when your trial balance went out of balance.
5. Review all transactions from that day and verify or correct them as needed.

Once done, you can reconcile your account. Then, review the reconciliation report to ensure your books are accurate.

Can you help me remove the "ghost" entry to fix this error please? The entry causing the unbalanced TB only appears in the TB and not in the GL.

I'd be happy to help you remove the incorrect entry. Here are a few simple steps you can follow:

1. Navigate to Transactions and select Chart of accounts (Take me there).
2. Locate the account you'd like to edit.
3. Select Account history.
4. Select the transaction you'd like to edit.
5. From here you can make changes to all available fields and select either Delete, Edit, Cancel, or Save.
