My quickbooks desktop 2019 when i open employee centre it kicks me out/closes. What should i do?

I'll make sure you can open Employee Centre in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @863-eth.

Let me start by outlining some of the possible causes that the QBDT program closes or stops working when opening certain areas (i.e., Employee Centre) or windows:

  • Your company name may be too long
  • You may have a damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file
  • You may have corruption on your hard drive
  • Your program files or QuickBooks Desktop installation may be damaged
  • You may have a damaged Windows operating system

To fix this, I'd recommend running the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Here's how:

  1. Close QBDT, then download the QuickBooks Tool Hub file.
  2. Once done, open the file (QuickBooksToolHub.exe) and follow the on-screen instruction to install.
  3. After that, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
  4. Select the Program Problems option, then Quick Fix my Program.
  5. Reopen QBDT.

In case the issue persists, you can continue troubleshooting starting with Solution 2 in this article: Solutions for when QuickBooks has stopped working. (The linked article is for the US region. However, it'll also work for the version you have).

Also, to get helpful info about the operating system, hardware, software, and other requirements to run QuickBooks and get the best experience, I'd recommend checking out this article: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2019 (The linked article is also for the US region).

Please keep me posted on how it goes in the comments below. If you have other concerns about utilizing QBDT features and managing employees, I'll gladly help. Take care, @863-eth.
