Trans Num # in transaction report had jumped

Please, I have faced the below Issue
In QuickBooks Desktop, when you run a transaction detail report (Transaction Detail By Account), you can see the transaction number that is automatically assigned by QuickBooks. but when exporting to Excel and sorting by Tans Num # I found the number from 182125 to 182141 on the same day.Transaction number jumps in transaction report.jpg

Also, I have checked the Audit Trail but the same difference and I have found the transaction number 182125 I don't find the numbers 182126 to 182140 but I have found 18241 so please where can I find the missed numbers between 182126 to 182140>
Please for your kind support.

Thanks.

Trans Num # in transaction report had jumped

Let's investigate what's causing the missing transaction numbers when running the report in QuickBooks Desktop, alimonqith.

When you delete or void an invoice, the transaction number associated with it will also be removed from the report. This results in the missing transaction numbers in the Transaction Detail By Account report. See the screenshots for your reference:

If the transactions were not voided or deleted, there may be damaged data in your company file. To resolve this, we can run File Doctor from the QuickBooks Tools Hub to fix company file issues. Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.6.0.5) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Then, please save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop).
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the installation finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

For other troubleshooting steps in resolving possible data damage in the software, check out this article: Names, items, or accounts that are missing from centers, reports, or transactions.
