It’s possible that entering your sales order number manually caused this issue. To verify existing sales orders, follow these steps:
Once you've located the existing sales order, you'll simply have to change the number of the sales order you want to add to a unique and unused one.
To prevent this from happening in the future, you may opt to use the Custom transaction numbers option to set your own numbering preference. To do so, simply go to the Account and settings menu from the Gear icon. From there, navigate to the Sales menu and go to the Sales form content section to activate the feature.
