Has there been a new update that is impacting the customer (client) list? I used to be able to click on customers and then go into the search field and start typing a name to open, including sub-clients. Now, the sub-clients are not showing up in the search results. I messed around with the client setup and it turns out that the "name to print on checks" field needs to show the parent name in order for the sub clients to pull up. Anyone else have this issue....seems weird.

Hi there, @sflynn1972.

I see that it's an unusual experience on your end not to view your customers and sub-clients when you're looking for them in the Customer's search bar. Allow me to share insights and route you to the best help.

Currently, there's an ongoing investigation (INV-96044) about the customer name not showing in the search bar of the customer list. With that in mind, I recommend contacting QuickBooks Online (QBO) Live support to add you as one of the users affected by the issue. Once updates are available, you'll be able to receive a notification through email.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Help (?) icon.
  2. Select Assistant to get a personalized answer, or if you need further help, you can still Talk to a human
  3. Select Search to read knowledge-based answers. Then, click Contact Us below.
  4. Choose the Ask about something else tab, and enter a brief description of your concern.
  5. Pick either Chat with us or Callback.

For future reference, if you want to send customer statements to show their outstanding balance or invoices, you can read this article: Create and send customer statements in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to reply to this post if you need further assistance with managing your customer list. I'll be happy to help. Have a good one.
