Up-date broke QB

Upon opening QB Enterprise Desktop I had no choice but to 'up-date' and now I cannot open QB. It says it has to 'up-date the company file' but I get 'something went wrong' message. I checked the company file and fixed any problem, but I still get that message 'something went wrong' and I can't even open the 'read more'.

I re-started several times and checked the company file again.  Still can't get in.

Up-date broke QB

Hi there, blip! I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you’ve already taken to resolve the error message in your company file.

Since the issue persists after restarting, it’s likely a temporary data problem with QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Let’s start by opening a sample file to determine if the behavior is identical to your original company file.

Here's how:

  1. Press and hold the Ctrl key and double-click your QuickBooks program icon.
  2. Hold the Ctrl key until the No Company Open window shows.
  3. From the No Company Open window, select Open a sample file.
  4. Choose any sample file from the list.

If it's working properly, you can close it and open your company file.

If the problem persists, your original company file may be damaged. To resolve this, download and use the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This utility is designed to fix major issues and errors in QuickBooks Desktop. For the best experience, use it on Windows 10 (64-bit).

Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.5.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe). Follow the on-screen steps to install, then agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. When the installation finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

Once done, it's time to run the Quick Fix my File and QuickBooks File Doctor utility:

  1. From the tool hub, select the Company File Issues tab.
  2. Select Quick Fix my File.
  3. Once the process is completed, click OK and then open QuickBooks again.
  4. If you're still receiving the same message, go back to the tool hub, then click the Company File Issues tab.
  5. Select Run QuickBooks File Doctor.
  6. Choose your company file from the drop-down menu.
  7. Select Check your file (middle option only), then click Continue.
  8. Enter your QuickBooks admin password, then hit Next.

The scan time depends on the size of your file and may take up to 10-15 minutes. Once the scan finishes, open QuickBooks and your company file.

Can you open the sample file without any issues?

Up-date broke QB

I did a system restore and used a back-up from the previous day (had to re-do 1 days work).

QB is saying that they are having issues with Outlook and QB (so we are by-passing Outlook until it's fixed)

Hope it's fixed soon.

Thanks for responding
