Hello there, Sophie.
Let's make sure to add your 2024 bank statements in QuickBooks Sole Trader and get your finances back on track.
Before we continue, since you've mentioned about adding bank statements, could you please clarify if you're referring to manually uploading your bank transactions from your linked account in QuickBooks or viewing your bank statements within QuickBooks? Also, have you encountered any error messages during this process? Any additional details you can provide would be helpful.
If you're referring to uploading bank statements to your QuickBooks account, please note that each bank has a different file format. Thus, you'll have to ensure your file follows QuickBooks' specific formatting rules to avoid errors.
Here are the supported file types that you can use when importing into QBO:
- CSV (.csv)
- Quicken (.QFX)
- QuickBooks Online (.QBO)
- Microsoft Money (.OFX)
- Text files (.TXT)
After completing the process, you'll have to decide whether you'll use a 3-column or 4-column layout to map your transactions.
You can refer to this article for further information on how to properly map your CSV file in QBO: Prepare your CSV file for bank upload to QuickBooks.
However, if you're referring to obtaining your financial statement directly from your bank using QuickBooks Online, you can refer to this article for more information: Get your bank statements.
If you don't see this option, it means that your bank doesn't currently support this feature. Nevertheless, we're working to add support for more banks in the future.
Feel free to reply to post if you need further assistance.
