Does anyone know how to add a payment to an existing invoice on this new format?

Hi, dcampbellfowler.

 

You can make a partial payment by opening the existing invoice or using the Receive payment feature from the menu. If you're referring to the new interface, I have the steps for you.

 

To record a partial payment, go to the Invoices page to locate the transaction. Once found, select View/edit, then follow the steps below:

 

  1. On the Invoice, click Receive payment at the top right header.
  2. Enter a value under the Amount received field.
  3. Hit Save and close.

 

You can do the same by clicking the +New or +Create icon, then selecting Receive Payment. I'll show you how.

 

Please know that the program allocates payments to the invoice line items in sequence. Thus, the additional settlement will apply to the following ones until fully paid. Its invoice status will also show as Partially Paid, along with the remaining balance.

 

To collect the remaining due moving forward, you can then send reminders manually using the updated invoice to your customers.

 

Alternatively, you can void, edit, or delete, and record several invoice payments in a single deposit.
