QuickBooks Online (QBO) can only download transactions if your bank supports an automatic connection, rgmackrill.

You'll need to contact your bank to figure out why they no longer allow automatic downloads to QuickBooks. As a workaround, you can manually upload your bank transactions following the correct file format that the system accepts, like CSV.QBO and QFX.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Bank transaction, click the Link account dropdown arrow.
  2. Select Upload from file and choose the file you downloaded from your bank.
  3. In the Select account dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into and click Continue.
  4. Match the columns in the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
  5. Select the transactions you would like to import. Then select Continue.
  6. Select Yes, then select Done.
