I think it’s safe to say that our Top 5 Series is going to be a thing now. I can’t get enough of seeing what you, our Community, are asking about our products. You’ve got questions, and we’ve got answers. Let’s get to it!
This week, we’re looking at account services. Managing your QuickBooks Online account is more than transactions, bills, and employees. Here are 5 questions in the Community to help you organize your account behind the scenes:
#1 - How do I delete an unused account?
Regardless of whether you're using a paid or trial subscription (or made an account by mistake), you can cancel the account yourself through your Account and Settings page. Here are steps to guide you through:
1. Log in to your account.
2. Go to the Gear icon, then Account and Settings.
3. Choose Billing and Subscription.
4. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel (paid subscription) or Cancel Trial (if you are using a trial).
5. Pick Continue to Cancel, then scroll down and click Confirm Cancel.
#2 - Can I log in to two companies with the same Credentials?
No need to set up multiple emails for different companies you have. When you’re ready to create your new account, follow these steps to add another company:
1. Go to https://quickbooks.intuit.com/online/.
2. Choose a version of QuickBooks by clicking Select.
3. On the sign-up page, select Adding a company to an existing account? Sign In.
4. Enter your current login information and follow the on-screen prompts to set up the second company.
Once signed in, you can click the Gear icon at the top and choose Switch Company.
Now you can go between your separate accounts with a simple click instead of logging out and back in. We love all things easy!
#3 - Does a limited user have access to all reports?
Understanding user roles in QuickBooks Online is very important, so you can set up admins or managers with the right permissions. In this situation, a Standard user with limited access cannot view all reports like the Profit and Loss report. This user can only access Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable reports.
Something worth mentioning is what users count towards your limit, and what users don’t.
Roles that count toward user limits:
Roles that don’t count toward user limits:
The best go-to guide for user types can be found here: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.
#4 - Is there a nonprofit price for QuickBooks?
Your company is helping others, so we want to help you out! We have special pricing for our wonderful nonprofit customers. Look at the details here: Nonprofit Accounting Solution.
#5 - I work from two different sites and need to access QuickBooks from both. How do I set this up?
Unlike our best friend QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online is completely web-based! This means you can access your account from anywhere: at home, at the office, or on the road. All you need is the internet and you can manage your account wherever you go.
And there it is, another Top 5 post from yours truly. We'll be back soon with another installation to help you be successful with us here at Intuit!
