Hello Community! Are you new to QuickBooks Online and want to feel confident when it comes to Online Banking or simply want to know more? If so, then you’re in the right place!

I know that when you own a business or are an accountant, your bank feed can be your lifeline! And yet, sometimes things can still go wrong- throwing your workflow for your day out of whack. But don’t worry! I’m here with my friend Jordan, a Senior Support Specialist on our National Accountants team, that will go over some helpful tips and tricks that you should know when dealing with bank feeds.

Let’s dive into what Jordan has to say.

Tip #1

If you're having issues, DO NOT DISCONNECT THE BANK FEED! We can see on our side through our handy dandy tools if the account need to be disconnected. It is important to note, however, that if you were to disconnect your bank account instead of seeking help from our support team, it could cause a big mess within your account! So you’re better off staying put and reaching out to us for support.

Some steps you can take first, however, are the following:
Step 1: Start a manual download
Step 2: Check your bank or credit card’s website
Step 3: Update your bank info in QuickBooks

You can check out all the details on these 3 steps here.

If none of the above steps work when it comes to troubleshooting a banking error, reach out to us right away! We can save a lot of headaches with a tool we have and along with that, save you some precious time!

Tip #2

If you're getting a banking error when trying to update your feeds, don't panic. Most likely than not, you probably aren't the only one!

A lot of the time, a banking issue may be affecting a whole slew of customers, so if our troubleshooting steps don't work, then an investigation on our end sure will! Our team will be able to determine if this is an issue that needs to get passed along to our engineers so they can work with the financial institution to get you up and running again.

But before jumping to conclusions, there are some error messages that may be caused by general browser issues. You can locate some of these common error message codes here and follow the steps to fix them in the links provided.

Tip #3

Don’t forget that there are a vast amount of resources on our Community page regarding bank feeds. While we’re ALWAYS here to help you, don’t overlook all the resources that the QuickBooks Community provides!

You can find Intuit-provided articles specific to error messages others have received, notifications alerting of activities going on with certain financial institutions, and even conversation threads with other users helping each other out with similar issues!

Some of these resources include the following:

Make sure to check these all out!

I hope you found these 3 Tips that Jordan shared on dealing with bank feed errors helpful. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or comments you may have here in the Community.

Until next time!
