Hello Community! I want to introduce you to Daniel, a Customer Experience Lead. Daniel has been with Intuit for a little less than a year. He is passionate about creating delightful customer experiences and removing friction for you. Customer Obsession, a pillar value at Intuit, is the one Daniel finds most important and continues to incorporate in all aspects of his day to day!
Today, he is going to walk you through his Top 3 tips that can help you get started with our new QuickBooks Solopreneur product. So let’s take a look at what he has to say!
Tip #1: Connect A Bank
Connecting a bank unlocks the ability to track income and expenses automatically without the need to manually create or upload transactions from bank statements. Transactions coming from a connected bank are auto-categorized but customers can toggle between business and personal, select categories, and match transactions to payments (if QuickBooks Payments is enabled).
Check out this article for instructions on connecting a bank in QuickBooks Solopreneur.
Note: Transaction categories are pre-populated and unchangeable. If customers need the ability to add or edit categories, they need a more advanced QuickBooks product. Pre-populated categories correspond to Schedule C tax form line items. This allows Solopreneurs to file taxes directly using Turbo Tax (with Live support) within QuickBooks Online Solopreneur.
Tip #2: Download the Mobile App
Downloading the QuickBooks Mobile app enables you to create estimates, invoices and take payments on location. It also helps customers manage expenses and track mileage to ensure that Solopreneurs are receiving every deduction they are entitled to. This in turn keeps Solopreneurs up to speed on what to put aside for taxes and/or what they’ll get back.
Check out this article for instructions on how to download the mobile app in QuickBooks Solopreneur.
Tip #3: Use Goal Setting
The goal creation and tracking feature allows customers to track progress and make adjustments with recommendations and guidance to help customers reach their goals. When starting a new goal, customers have the option of creating a goal to grow their income or get more customers. These are two action items that Solopreneurs have mentioned are most important to them and their business.
To use this feature:
Note: Goal setting and tracking are only available via web versions of QuickBooks Solopreneur at the moment.
That’s all for today’s Quick Start with an Expert! We hope you found these tips helpful and will hopefully help you feel more confident in getting started with this product. As always, feel free to reach out in the Community anytime!
See you next time.
